Analytical Services

As well as designing instruments, we offer an analytical service using our portable TOF mass spectrometer, the MS200. The MS200 is capable of measuring many VOC concentrations down to ppb levels in a few seconds, and thus offers the capability of real-time monitoring of multiple species.

The cost of such a project depends upon its duration and the amount of time required to produce a written report to the client's requirements, but as a price indicator the daily cost of hiring an MS200 together with a Kore scientist is about £700, exclusive of any travel expenses, which are charged at cost.

In-house analysis service: mass spectrometry

We have an MS200 instrument in-house, and it is available for analytical services. Following a discussion of your analytical needs, samples or apparatus may be brought to Kore for analysis.

Examples of projects undertaken include the measurement of emitted gases from a new type of air cleanser as part of its product development.

We are able to bring the instrument to the client site, since it is a portable instrument,as outlined below.

On-site analysis service: mass spectrometry

Increasingly clients just require the data from a short-term on-site investigation. If you have such a project that typically does not justify an instrument purchase then please ask about our MS200 on-site analysis programme via email (info@kore.co.uk) or the Enquiry form. In these projects it is usually more efficient if Kore supplies an MS200 with an experienced Kore operator to produce the required data. Apart from removing the need to purchase an instrument this eliminates the time and cost of training in-house operators.

Examples of projects undertaken include the measurement of VOCs on remediation and landfill sites, as well as collecting data on passive smoking in public areas.
